Rhiner Del Valle was superb against Pawtucket. The right-hander, who is tied for 5th in the IL in strikeouts with 85, had a curveball that was virtually unhittable at times. The result was a Knights victory. The score was 7-6. Darrell Bruen nailed down his 15th save. The win elevated the Knights to 34-33.

The Red Sox had little chance against Del Valle, who overpowered Pawtucket hitters and struck out 11.

"Rhiner just went about his business, throwing strikes," said Charlotte manager Zhu Yu.
