Dundies 7-4 Victors Over Birmingham
|
Birmingham first baseman Myles Sansone had a good game, even if his team did not. The Barons dropped a 7-4 decision to Scranton at PNC Field. Sansone went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. Efrain Wyatt earned the save for Scranton, his 17th. The Dundies now own a record of 31-32.
Townsend McCardell had a big 2-run double for the Dundies in the bottom of the first inning. With Scranton leading 1-0 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a fastball from 26-year old right-handed pitcher Jesús Ruelas and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 5th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Dundies ahead, 3-0.
"I thought we competed really well," said Dundies manager Jameson Senchak. "I thought the energy was really good."
