Norsemen Rally Late to Nip Barons
|
The Rochester Norsemen downed the Wilkes-Barre Barons, 1-0, at Frontier Field. Rochester pitcher Jayceon George had a scintillating performance. After today's action, Rochester sits at 21-36, while Wilkes-Barre falls to 30-27.
The decisive blow was delivered by Jack Goerger in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a run-scoring double off 31-year old left-handed pitcher Rusty Tucker to win the game for Rochester. The home crowd went nuts.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Wilkes-Barre skipper Jon Moody, "and it cost us."
