The Toledo Mud Hens got a superb performance from pitcher Mickey Hall. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Ottawa. The Oddballs won the game, 2-1. Hall threw 7.0 innings of shutout ball. The winner was Ottawa reliever Isidro Silvar, now 2-1. The loser was Dan Brusseau. The last-place Oddballs now have a win-loss record of 21-36.
George Hall helped out the Ottawa cause in the bottom of the eighth inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the right fielder was 1-3 with a walk.
Afterward, Oddballs manager Jorge Castillo was ebullient. "That was a fun game to coach," he told a group of reporters, adding, "I hope it was just as fun to watch."
