Stripers Handle Birmingham, Snag 3-0 Win
|
In a low-scoring game between the Gwinnett Stripers and the Birmingham Barons, pitcher Cole Bowman was masterful on the mound. The Gwinnett left-hander spearheaded his team's 3-0 win. David Tilley closed it out for his 8th save. The win puts the Stripers at 17-40, while the Barons drop to 32-25.
Napóleon Alcantara had a direct impact on the outcome. Alcantara contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the first inning to put Gwinnett up, 1-0.
"We didn't score," said losing manager Matt Baker. "That was the problem."
