Mud Hens Bedevil Clippers, 1-0
|
The Columbus Clippers got a superb performance from pitcher Derek Bauman. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Toledo. The Mud Hens won the game, 1-0. Bauman threw 6.0 innings of shutout ball. Kenny Griner earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. He upped his record to 1-1. The 7th-place Mud Hens go to 22-37.
Derek Ceccarini had a direct impact on the outcome. Ceccarini contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the tenth inning to put Toledo up, 1-0.
"This is a resilient bunch," said Toledo manager Tony Cerda.
