Stewart, Louisville Prevail in Pitchers' Duel
The Louisville Bats eked out a 1-0 win versus the Newark Bears at Louisville Slugger Field. Nobody did more than pitcher Gregg Stewart. He was terrific. Duke Egbers earned the save for Louisville, his 2nd. The Bats now have a record of 19-34.

Stewart, who dominated for Louisville, earned the victory to move to 1-8. He was in control the whole game, scattering 6 hits over 8 innings, while striking out 7. Newark batters could never bunch up enough hits to produce a rally.

"Really good pitchers have that ability to raise their game when they need to," said Louisville manager Jonathan Warner.
