Ottawa Makes It 6 Straight with 1-0 Win
|
Birmingham got a big-time effort from pitcher Hunter Vandi, but it wasn't enough to keep the Ottawa Oddballs from winning the game, 1-0. Vandi threw 9.2 innings of shutout ball for the losing team. Ottawa has an impressive 37-16 record.
The Oddballs procured the win, in large part because of first baseman Vince Garvey. In the bottom of the 13th, he produced the game-winning run-scoring single.
"We squandered some opportunities," said Birmingham manager Chase Barnes.
