The Syracuse Chiefs picked up a win at Victory Field, taking down the Buffalo Bisons, 5-4. Starting pitcher A.J. Greenberg was a big reason why. Richard Gaither, now 1-1, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 2 hits in 1.1 innings. The save went to Jaxson Stevenson, number 8 for him.

Had Benigno Capote not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Capote hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 5-4, in favor of the Chiefs.

"A.J. attacked hitters and trusted his stuff," said Syracuse manager Aaron Calderon.

After today's action, Syracuse sits at 29-20, while Buffalo falls to 25-24.
