Clippers Chop Down Barons, 7-1
|
Columbus took on Wilkes-Barre in front of a lively crowd.
Ryan Chatman was nothing short of phenomenal for the Columbus Clippers. The 23-year-old right-hander was a big reason his team beat the Wilkes-Barre Barons, 7-1. Chatman got the win, improving to 1-4. He gave up 3 hits and walked 1 over 5 innings. He allowed 1 run.
Sullivan Seaberry had a big run-scoring double for the Clippers in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Columbus leading 2-1 and a runner on 1st, he got a sinker from 36-year old right-handed pitcher Jake Prendergast and swatted a double to left. It was his 7th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Clippers ahead, 3-1.
"We had a nice day," said Columbus skipper Gregory Edgar.
The Clippers improved their record to 25-27 by beating Wilkes-Barre.
