The Columbus Clippers had to overcome a fine effort from Wilkes-Barre pitcher Alexander Ashman to win, 4-3, in 11 innings at Huntington Park. Ashman went 6 innings and allowed 3 runs. Columbus reliever Tyler Thurston picked up the win, upping his record to 6-4. Samuel McCutcheon was saddled with the loss. The Barons, now 24-24, have lost 4 straight.

The decisive blow was delivered by Axl Cork in the bottom of the 11th when he hit a run-scoring double off 33-year old right-handed pitcher Samuel McCutcheon to win the game for Columbus. The home crowd went nuts.

In postgame remarks, Cork hailed his team's "mettle."
