The Toledo Mud Hens picked up a win at Coca-Cola Field, dropping the Buffalo Bisons, 3-2, in 10 innings. Lewis Sances, who is tied for 10th in the IL in innings pitched with 61.0, was the difference-maker. Toledo reliever Juju Kirby picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Billy Phan was saddled with the loss. Travis Salsgiver earned the save for Toledo, his 10th of the year.
The Mud Hens got a big at-bat from second baseman Bill Mullins. For the game, Mullins went 1 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the first, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 6th home run of the season gave Toledo a 2-0 lead.
"We had the eye of a tiger tonight," said winning manager Tony Cerda.
The 6th-place Mud Hens hiked their record to 19-28.
