Rentschler, Bisons Romp Over Mud Hens, 12-3
|
The Buffalo Bisons had no problem beating the Toledo Mud Hens, 12-3, at Coca-Cola Field. Santon Rentschler led the way. He was 4 for 5 with a home run, a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3 for Buffalo. Garth Thomas picked up the win, lifting his record to 3-0 on the season. He struck out 9 and walked 1 in 5.2 innings, while yielding 2 runs. Jason Haas got the save, the 1st for him this season.
With Buffalo leading 4-0 in the bottom of the second, Rentschler came up to bat against Toledo pitcher Todd Layne. Rentschler hit a fastball to right-center for a 3-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season put the Bisons on top, 7-0.
"It's always fun to score a lot of runs," said Rentschler.
The Bisons now have a record of 27-18.
