Bats Victors, 8-0, at Wilkes-Barre
|
The Louisville Bats downed the Wilkes-Barre Barons, 8-0, at Coca-Cola Park. Starring for Louisville was pitcher George Imler. The winning pitcher was Imler, now 4-0. He tossed 7 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 6. Louisville is now 20-28, Wilkes-Barre 27-21.
Danny Jones had a big 2-run triple for the Bats in the top of the fifth inning. With Louisville leading 2-0 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a splitter from 37-year old left-handed pitcher Nick Ahandour and swatted a triple to left-center. It was his 1st triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Bats ahead, 4-0.
"We're just going to try to build off this win," said Jones.
