Barons Pin 3-1 Loss on Maine
|
In a low-scoring game between Wilkes-Barre and Maine, pitcher Jon Serrano was excellent. The Wilkes-Barre left-hander helped his team knock off the Grizzlies, 3-1. The winner in relief was Hector Arenas. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 1 hit in 1.2 innings. He now owns a record of 2-0. Fulgencio Ochoa nailed down the save.
Wilkes-Barre took a 3-1 lead on Jacob Summers's 5th double of the season. The 2-run double, which Summers hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Maine pitcher Ken Malloy visibly frustrated.
"Every play was important. Every out was important," said Barons manager Hector Vidal.
The Barons raised their record to 19-26.
