Norsemen Rally to Win, 4-3
|
Gwinnett left fielder Kevin Phillips had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 4-3, to Rochester in 10 innings. Phillips was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Rochester reliever Shelton Webster was the winner. His record is now 2-0. The losing pitcher was Zachary Murch. Kelley Graser recorded the save, his 11th.
Rochester needed the clutch hitting of Keldon Neville to seal the deal. The second baseman swatted a solo home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Norsemen on top, 4-3. For the game, Neville had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"Tough ballgame, tough loss," said Gwinnett manager Jeremy Milby.
Rochester, at 28-13, holds down first place in the International League Northeast Division.
