Clippers Score Late, Upend Bats, 6-1
|
The home team gave the crowd at Huntington Park something to cheer about.
The Columbus Clippers went home winners at Huntington Park, thanks in large part to starter Ryan Chatman. Chatman stifled the Louisville Bats, enabling Columbus to grab the 6-1 win. Columbus, now 20-22, holds down 7th place in the International League Southwest Division.
Mikel Guzman hit a run-scoring double off Jojo McCray in the bottom of the eighth, which put the Clippers in front, 2-1. In addition to the double, Guzman had 1 single, while going 2 for 4.
"Ryan went out and got the job done," said Clippers manager Gregory Edgar.
