Falcons Rally Late to Clip Atlanta
The Fresno Falcons beat the Atlanta Braves, 6-5, in 10 innings, in part because of right fielder Timothy Napoli. He was 2-3 with 2 doubles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Kimberly Powell earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. His record is now 1-1. Picking up his 8th save was fan favorite Woody Jones.

A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the top of the tenth, with the game tied, Sebastian Schleusner was at the plate when Fresno scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Falcons to go in front, 6-5.

"This was one of those 'not to be denied' games," said Fresno field general Pedro Alvarado.

The 5th-place Falcons improved to 16-22.
