Dundies Get Clutch Win, 2-1
|
Jace Currie pitched well, but his team, the Columbus Clippers, still dropped a 2-1 decision to the Scranton Dundies at Huntington Park. Xavier Miller notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.2 innings. His record now sits at 3-0. Joshua Natvig earned his 5th save, after closing out the game.
Scranton used the timely hitting of Peter Conrad to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Dundies on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"We faced good pitching and still got it done," said Conrad.
The triumph puts Scranton at 23-15 for the season.
