Walker, Barons Get 2-0 Win
|
McCoy Stadium hosted a real pitchers' duel.
In a low-scoring clash between Birmingham and Pawtucket, pitcher Andrew Walker was a difference-maker. The left-hander earned accolades in the 2-0 win. Juan Cortez closed it out for his 1st save.
Walker scattered 1 hit over 8 innings for the Barons. With the win, Walker goes to 3-2 on the year with 59 strikeouts.
"Good pitching, clutch hitting," said Birmingham skipper Chase Barnes. "I can't complain."
Birmingham is in third place in the International League Southwest Division with a record of 20-20.
