Derron McKenzie was outstanding against San Diego. The right-hander, who is tied for 2nd in the WEST with a 0.88 WHIP, had a fastball that was virtually unhittable at times. The result was a Astros 5-1 win. McKenzie went 5.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 2, and struck out 9. His record improves to 5-2. San Diego has now lost 5 consecutive games.

Joshua Massengill tagged a home run off Dolph Gervais in the bottom of the first. His 2-run blast put the Astros on top, 2-0. In all, Massengill had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
