Bisons Earn Clutch Win, 4-3
|
The fans at Coca-Cola Field witnessed quite a game.
Thornton Langston powered the Buffalo Bisons to a win over the Scranton Dundies. The final score was 4-3. The Buffalo left fielder, who is tied for 2nd in the IL with a .450 on-base percentage, was phenomenal. He stroked 2 extra-base hits, including 1 home run and 1 double. Doogie Hurst snagged the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit over 1.2 innings. He's now 2-1 on the season.
Harwood Witt was the walk-off hero for Buffalo. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Bisons first baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"I do my best to contribute," said Langston.
With the win, Buffalo has a record of 24-15. Scranton falls to 23-16.
