The Buffalo Bisons picked up a win at Coca-Cola Field, downing the Syracuse Chiefs, 3-2, in 10 innings. On the mound for Buffalo was right-hander Von Salzillo, who played a pivotal role in the win. Buffalo reliever Alejandro Grajeda picked up the win to move to 1-0. Daniel Leone suffered the loss. The Bisons improved their record to 21-17 with the win over Syracuse.

The Bisons got a clutch hit from designated hitter Ikerne Fogg. In the bottom of the tenth, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Bisons.

"The game of baseball will test you," said Rich Hernandez, the Buffalo skipper. "This one tested us."
