Oddballs Deal Syracuse 7-5 Defeat
|
Ottawa and Syracuse duked it out and the Oddballs came out victorious.
Behind a solid performance from third baseman Delwyn Cassell, the Ottawa Oddballs defeated the Syracuse Chiefs, 7-5. Cassell was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Oddballs. The winning pitcher was Gabriel Taylor. He tossed 96 pitches over 6 innings, allowing 1 run on 6 hits.
Cassell got the Oddballs off to a quick start. In the top of the first, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit a run-scoring single.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Ottawa manager Jesus Rojas.
The 6th-place Oddballs have a record of 19-16.
