Win Makes Oddballs 19-16
|
The Ottawa Oddballs used the hitting of left fielder Russ Dean to subdue the Louisville Bats, 6-2. For the game, Dean went 2-3 with 2 singles and a walk, while scoring 2 times. Reginald Clark, 3-1, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 3 hits in 2.2 innings. At 19-16, the Oddballs are currently 5th in the International League Northeast Division.
Ottawa designated hitter Matt Krodel contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the first. With two down, he hit a fastball to right-center field for a 2-run single. It was his 8th hit of the season and put the Oddballs ahead, 4-1.
Dean told a Ottawa Chronicle reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.
