Mud Hens Beaten, 3-2, by Buffalo
|
In a low-scoring contest between the Buffalo Bisons and the Toledo Mud Hens, Martin Clark was the X factor. The Buffalo right-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win. Clark, now 2-2, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 7, walking 2, and allowing 2 runs. With the win over Toledo, the Bisons improved to 18-15.
Buffalo third baseman D.J. Iuliucci contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the first. With two down, he hit a fastball to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 22nd hit of the season and put the Bisons ahead, 2-1.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Buffalo manager Rich Hernandez said.
