Wizards Win Again, 2-1, Extend Streak to 8
|
The Orlando Wizards had to overcome a good performance from Durham pitcher Dedrick McAdoo to claim a 2-1 win at Durham Bulls Athletic Park. McAdoo went 7.2 innings and allowed 2 runs. Jacob Spadafora, who is tied for 10th in the IL in innings pitched with 41.2, was the winner. He's now 4-3. The loser was Dedrick McAdoo. Elijah Jereb earned the save for Orlando, his 8th of the year.
Orlando used a well-timed hit by Pedro Casillas to capture the win. The shortstop socked a run-scoring double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Wizards ahead, 2-1. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"It wasn't easy, but we got it done," said Casillas.
Orlando has now won 8 straight.
