Norsemen Rally For 5-2 Win
|
Rochester pitcher Freddie Schumaker did his part in helping his team beat the Columbus Clippers, 5-2. The right-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. The first-place Norsemen go to 24-9.
Rochester won the game in part because of Mike Rundle. The first baseman ripped a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Norsemen ahead, 4-2. For the game, Rundle had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.
"The key at this level is throwing strike one," said Schumaker. "Successful pitchers do it."
