Barons Earn 4-1 Road Win Over Newark
|
Behind an impressive start by Damian Mandujano, Wilkes-Barre beat Newark, 4-1. Gabriel McClanahan earned his 2nd save, after closing out the game. At 20-16, the Barons claim third place in the International League Northeast Division.
Wilkes-Barre took a 4-1 lead on R.J. Woods's 3rd home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Woods hit in the top of the ninth, left Newark pitcher Bulldog Mondragon visibly frustrated.
"We need better swings, better at-bats," said losing manager Shark McGee.
