Lloyd Shippen pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Orlando Wizards, despite Shippen's fine outing, dropped a 3-2 decision to the Charlotte Knights at Orlando Grounds. Don Surilla picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-1. Lloyd Shippen, who is tied for 7th in the IL in wins with 3, was tagged with the loss. The victory makes Charlotte 8-21.

Charlotte used the timely hitting of Jeremiah Rodriguez to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Knights on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"Not enough offensively in a winnable game," said losing manager Derril Schunemann.
