The home crowd had a good time watching the Toledo Mud Hens and Gwinnett Stripers get after it.
The Gwinnett Stripers clobbered the Toledo Mud Hens, 13-3, at Coolray Field. Gwinnett center fielder Simon Pierce led the onslaught. He was 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, and 2 walks, while scoring 2 times and driving in 5. Gwinnett has a mark of 10-16 after the win.
Jeuyson Palomino, who leads the IL in extra base hits with 14, aided the Gwinnett cause with a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the second. For the game, the left fielder drew 2 walk in 5 trips to the plate. He scored 2 runs.
