Stripers Sneak Past Mud Hens, 6-5
|
The Toledo Mud Hens got a superb performance from pitcher Edgardo Gil. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Gwinnett. The Stripers won the game, 6-5. Gil threw 5.1 innings of shutout ball. Gwinnett reliever Casee Mabry picked up the win to move to 2-0. Damian Lanahan suffered the loss. With the win, Gwinnett climbs to 9-16.
The Stripers procured the win, in large part because of second baseman John Krueckeberg. In the bottom of the 15th, he produced the game-winning run-scoring double.
"This place was rocking at the end," Krueckeberg said.
