The Newark Bears defeated the Buffalo Bisons, 4-2, at Coca-Cola Field. Newark was led by 25-year old second baseman Hudson Gil, who was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs. Bryce Patterson picked up the win, lifting his record to 2-2 on the season. He struck out 1 and walked 4 in 6 innings, while yielding 2 runs.

Ricky Jager had a direct impact on the outcome. Jager contributed a run-scoring ground out in the top of the first inning to put Newark up, 1-0.

"We made a couple of mistakes," said Buffalo skipper Rich Hernandez, "and it cost us."
