Clippers Topple Red Sox, 6-2
|
The Columbus Clippers racked up a win at Huntington Park, bumping off the Pawtucket Red Sox, 6-2. Timothy Hullett, who started for Columbus, pitched effectively for his team. The winning pitcher was Hullett, now 2-0. He tossed 7 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 4. With the win, Columbus lifts its record to 16-10.
Dylan Chia had a big bases-clearing double for the Clippers in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Columbus leading 1-0 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from Jeremy Etienne, who leads the IL in quality starts with 5, and swatted a double to left. It was his 4th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Clippers ahead, 4-0.
"Thought I threw pretty well and overall I felt good," said Hullett.
