Turner Whacks 2 Home Runs in 8-6 Win
The Wilkes-Barre Barons and Columbus Clippers left the fans buzzing.

Columbus right fielder Minor Turner contributed significantly to his team's 8-6 win over the Wilkes-Barre Barons. Turner, who is tied for 3rd in the IL with a 1.307 OPS, went 4 for 4 with 3 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Clippers. Getting the save was Francisco Vergara, his 3rd.

Columbus shortstop Duke Mullanix contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the second. With two down, he hit a changeup to center field for a 2-run single. It was his 2nd hit of the season and put the Clippers ahead, 3-0.

"I had some good swings out there," said Turner.

The Clippers have hit the ground running, raising their record to 14-7. While it's still too soon to talk about Columbus hoisting their 3rd AAA Championship Series trophy, fans are getting excited about their strong start.
