Minnesota got a big-time effort from pitcher Bertram Rosenberger, but it wasn't enough to keep the Toronto Blue Jays from winning the game, 3-1. Rosenberger threw 7.1 innings of 3-hit ball for the losing team. The Twins, at 16-21, have lost 4 in a row.

Toronto used the timely hitting of Connor Thomas to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Blue Jays on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"I don't lose sleep over a loss," said Thomas. "But I have better dreams after a win."
