Clippers Continue Hot Start to Season With Win
|
The Columbus Clippers dealt the Buffalo Bisons a 5-2 loss at Huntington Park. Ferdinand Puello was the star on offense. He was 2 for 4 with a home run and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Shannon Hadley earned the save, his 6th. The Clippers have hit the ground running, raising their record to 15-7. While it's still too soon to talk about Columbus hoisting their 3rd AAA Championship Series trophy, fans are getting excited about their strong start.
Nick Dunstan, who leads the IL in total bases with 57, helped out the Columbus cause in the bottom of the first inning with a run-scoring ground out. For the game, the right fielder was 1 for 4 with a double.
"Don't let his youth fool you," said Clippers manager Gregory Edgar. "Ferdinand knows what he's doing out there."
