Drooping Dundies Lose 7th Straight
|
The Charlotte Knights defeated the Scranton Dundies, 5-3, at PNC Field. J.R. Tormoehlen, who is tied for 3rd in the IL in RBI with 20, was a standout performer for Charlotte. His 3 hits included 2 singles and 1 double -- this in addition to the 1 run he scored and 2 he knocked in. The win takes Charlotte to 11-12.
A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the top of the eighth, with the game tied, Scott Paulson was at the plate when Charlotte scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Knights to go in front, 4-3.
"Some wins are easy and some are difficult, but either way we come to the ballpark ready to work hard every day," Paulson told the Charlotte Today.
