Troy Istvan led Ottawa to an extra-inning win over Syracuse. The final score was 6-5. Istvan scored 2 times, going 4 for 5. He also knocked in 2 runs batted in. Thomas Casto earned the save for Ottawa, his 2nd of the year. Despite the win, Ottawa, now 6-14, is off to a terrible start.

The game was all tied up in the top of the tenth, until Istvan delivered big-time for Ottawa, stroking a dramatic run-scoring single off Richard Gaither. The game-changing hit put the Oddballs on top, 6-5.

"To not win that game stings a little bit," said Syracuse manager Abe Blowers.
