Mud Hens Eke Out 2-1 Win Versus Rochester
|
Fifth Third Field featured a tense pitchers' duel.
The Toledo Mud Hens tallied a win at Fifth Third Field, throttling the Rochester Norsemen, 2-1. Starting pitcher Steve Mullen was a big reason for his team's success. Mullen got the win, improving to 2-1. He gave up 6 hits and walked 2 over 6.2 innings. He allowed 1 run. Finley Timmons collected his 3rd save.
The Mud Hens got a big at-bat from first baseman Hudson Anderson. For the game, Anderson was 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 5th home run of the season gave Toledo a 2-0 lead.
"Not everyone likes pitching duels," said Mullen. "But I do."
Now 5-13, the Norsemen have gotten off to a poor start.
