Norfolk Makes It 6 Straight with 5-3 Win
The Norfolk Tides topped the Newark Bears, 5-3, in International League action at Valiants Ballpark. The standout performance belonged to Norfolk pitcher and Columbus, Ohio, native George Babcock. Hudson Thames was called on to finish, recording his 7th save. The defeat makes Newark 4-13.

Peter Haynes had a big at-bat in the top of the eighth inning for the Tides. With his team down, 3-2, the pinch hitter hit a 3-run home run, to put Norfolk ahead.

"When I'm in the lineup, I always feel like we're going to win the game," said Babcock.
