3-0 Win by Bats Continues Hot Start
|
In a low-scoring contest between the Louisville Bats and the Pawtucket Red Sox, 26-year old right-handed pitcher Gregg Stewart proved to be the difference. The Louisville right-hander earned props for his performance in the 3-0 Bats win. Stewart yielded no runs over 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 2, and struck out 3. His record improves to 1-0. Earning his 1st save of the year was Ethan Fowler.
Louisville used the stroke of Mason Bakman to get the win. The catcher hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Bats ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 1 at-bat, but it did its damage.
"We put together a nice win," Stewart said.
The Bats, now 11-3, have played some good baseball in the early going.
