Wilkes-Barre Stymied by Birmingham, 2-0
|
Starting pitcher Pastor Olivas did his part in helping the Birmingham Barons thwart the Wilkes-Barre Barons, 2-0. Earning his 6th save for Birmingham was Jeronimo Castillo. Birmingham is now 9-6.
Birmingham took a 2-0 lead on Jonas Burgos's 2nd double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Burgos hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Wilkes-Barre pitcher Stan Wakefield visibly frustrated.
"We did just enough to win," Burgos said.
