Losing Trend Continues for Rochester
|
The rain could not dampen the enthusiasm of Syracuse fans at Victory Field.
Rochester got a decent performance from pitcher Harry D'Ambrose, but it wasn't enough to beat the Syracuse Chiefs. Syracuse won the Victory Field contest, 6-3. D'Ambrose threw 6.0 innings allowing 4 runs for the losing team. The win was credited to Edbert Coleman in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Harry D'Ambrose took the loss.
The game was on the line with two out in the top of the eighth inning, but Maxwell Hight didn't flinch. With a runner on 1st and Rochester trailing 4-3, Hight retired Luke Crawford to end the threat. "Nothing to it," said Hight, with a wink.
It was the 9th win in 10 games this year for the defending champion Chiefs, who are picking up where they left off.
