Scranton 7-1 Win Hard-Earned
|
The Scranton Dundies faced a tough opponent in Pawtucket pitcher Billy van Riebeck, but did just enough to pull out the victory at McCoy Stadium by a final score of 7-1 in 10 innings. van Riebeck went 6.1 innings and allowed 1 run. The win was credited to 32-year old right-handed pitcher Harvard Fisher in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Gabe St. Clair took the loss. So far, the 2059 season has been disappointing for Pawtucket, now 4-6.
Scranton took advantage of an error in the top of the tenth inning. The game was tied, 1-1, when Dexter Rowen hit a 2-run single that was misplayed. It put the Dundies in front, 3-1.
"Big win," said Rowen.
