Dobson, Barons Beat Bats, 9-7
|
The Birmingham Barons beat the Louisville Bats, 9-7, at Raley Field. The Barons got a fine performance from first baseman Lee Dobson, who went 2-2 with a home run, a double, and 3 walks. He scored 4 times and drove in 3. Earning his 3rd save for Birmingham was Brad Richmond. The Bats drop to 3-7 and continue their inconsistent start to the 2063 season.
In the bottom of the seventh, Birmingham catcher August Waggoner had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and two out, Waggoner stroked a run-scoring single to left. It made the score 7-5, Birmingham. For the game, he was 1 for 4.
"I try to not think too much," said Dobson.
