Barons Hang 5-2 Loss on Oddballs
|
Wilkes-Barre pitcher Everett Short did his part in helping his team beat the Ottawa Oddballs, 5-2. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Short, now 2-0, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 4, walking 3, and allowing 1 run. With the win, Wilkes-Barre is 7-3.
The game was on the line with two out in the top of the seventh inning, but Jacob Arellano didn't flinch. With runners on 1st and 2nd and Ottawa trailing 4-2, Arellano retired Sebastian Reber to end the threat. "Nothing to it," said Arellano, with a wink.
