Detroit took on Cleveland in front of a lively crowd.
The Detroit Tigers met little resistance from the Cleveland Indians, beating them 11-1 at Comerica Park. Merlin Weichert led the way. He went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4 for Detroit. Hadley Scott earned save number 1 this season.
A decisive at-bat came in the bottom of the sixth inning. With the bases loaded, the batter, Aarón Gutiérrez, hit a 2-run single. It made the score 2-1, Detroit, and helped them go on to win.
"It was full throttle on our side," said Weichert.
The Tigers sit in 4th place in the Eastern Region North Division with a record of 17-19.
