Blue Jays Notch 7-6 Win Versus Astros
|
The Toronto Blue Jays defeated the Houston Astros, 7-6, in National League action at Rogers Centre. Toronto pitcher Billy Phan had a standout performance. Toronto pitcher Brom Kucera earned the win, hiking his record to 3-0. Edgar Bess suffered the loss. Jack Tritt, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 8th save.
Caleb Turney, who finished 5th in the NL in slugging percentage with .603 in 2059, chipped in a run-scoring single for Toronto in the bottom of the seventh. For the game, the first baseman had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 3 RBI.
