Buffalo pitcher Freddie Mercado had a large part in his team subduing the Louisville Bats, 2-0. The opposition could never mount much of a rally against the right-hander. The win moves Buffalo to a record of 5-1.

The Bisons got a big at-bat from shortstop Rod Zaino. For the game, Zaino was 1-3 with a double, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the first, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 1st double of the season gave Buffalo a 2-0 lead.
