Bats Win at Birmingham, 3-1
|
The Louisville Bats scooped up a win at Raley Field, dumping the Birmingham Barons, 3-1. Adam Conwell was essential to his team's success. Conwell, now 1-1, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 2 hits, while striking out 7, walking 4, and allowing no runs. The win has Louisville at 4-4.
Louisville relied on the bat of Lochlan Iacobellis to get the win. The left fielder ripped a run-scoring triple in the top of the third inning to put the Bats ahead, 2-0. For the game, Iacobellis had 1 double and 1 triple in 4 at-bats.
"Enjoyed this one," Conwell told the Louisville News. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
